LB Corporate Finance update
An update from Stuart Sheldrick…
It has been an extremely busy time for LB Corporate Finance, assisting with a large number of transactions, with the value of these in excess of £100m since the turn of the year.
Due to this growth Matt Barnett has joined the department to ensure, as a firm, we can service clients’ needs in this area. Hopefully you have all had a chance to meet Matt as he visits our offices to raise awareness of what our Corporate Finance department offers, and how we assist our clients.
To give you a better understanding of the type of work we can assist with, please see below some examples of the transactions we have been involved in.
Management Buy Outs
We have advised the following clients on how to construct and execute a management buyout assisting with valuing the company, negotiating, and structuring the transaction as well as assist with due diligence where required and liaise with legal representatives to ensure the deals move forward.
Cape electrical – A Colchester based client whereby the Corporate Finance department acted on buy side with Shaun Roberts and Lucas Carter on sell side, assisted with all aspects of the transaction on a vendor financed deal valued at £7.6m.
Thames Diesel – An external client needed assistance with performing due diligence as part of a management buyout, as well as deal support to successful complete the deal at £6.5m.
Calminster Limited – The Corporate finance team offered advice to this client on the various exit options and finally aided in a management buyout. This resulted in one owner buying out an existing retiring shareholder with a deal valued at £600k.
Private equity sale
Jump Street – The Corporate finance team led the sale of the local trampoline park after the client was approached by a large Scandinavian private equity firm. A lockbox structured deal meant the transaction was able to be concluded in a very short period of time (6 weeks), this was successfully completed at an equity value of £6.5m.
Shaken udder – We assisted PWC with the sale of a long-standing client to one of the largest UK based private equity firms, LDC, with a deal worth £35m.
Trade sale
Eslip – We assisted with the sale of a payroll bureau client to a large outsource provider Topsource, with a deal value of £835k.
As a department we have also assisted a number of clients in finding the necessary funding for their businesses whether for working capital needs, asset finance or for acquisition.
I hope you are all aware we have the platform Capitalise Discover a healthier way to do business | Capitalise, to assist clients with their finance needs. If you have clients which need assistance, please let Matthew in the Corporate Finance team aware.
One of the other key areas the Corporate Finance department has been working on is making clients aware of their succession planning options. So again, if you have clients who need assistance with this please reach out to myself or Matthew Barnett.
