Celebrating Hanukkah!

This year, Hanukkah started at nightfall on Sunday 18th December and runs through to nightfall on December 26th (boxing day).

For those that don’t know, Hanukkah is the Jewish eight-day, wintertime “festival of lights,” celebrated with a nightly menorah lighting, special prayers and fried foods.

The Jewish festival commemorates the recovery of Jerusalem and subsequent rededication of the Second Temple, at the beginning of the Maccabean revolt against the Seleucid Empire in the 2nd century.
