Seasonal flu is a viral illness spread by coughs and sneezes. People can catch it all year round but it’s more common in winter, which is why it’s known as seasonal flu. It’s easily spread and can affect a large number of working adults of all ages, whilst it can feel like a heavy cold to us, it can severely impact those vulnerable around us.
The NHS National flu immunisation programme letter for this year states “As social contact returns to pre-pandemic norms there is likely to be a resurgence in influenza activity in winter 2022 to 2023 to levels similar to or higher than before the pandemic.”
For any employee wishing to get the jab this winter and not eligible to get it through the NHS, the business will refund you up to £17 when claimed through expenses.
