Introducing Moodle

So what is Moodle and how do I access it?

Moodle is a browsable digital store for all training guides, manuals and technical data groupwide. It is the fount of all our shared knowledge. A place of education and collaboration.

How will we use Moodle?

To begin, it is a space where you will be able to logon and search for an answer to a technical question, whether it be how to access CCH Anywhere, how to reset your password or maybe for guidance around group restructures and transactions work. We will use it to on-board new staff and guid them through a series of training sessions to LB systems and key information. Technical Steering Groups will share updated guidance for Tax, accounting, audit and many more business disciplines. There really is no limit and as we embrace it we will undoubtedly find other productive and efficient ways to utilise its full features.

Where possible we will use live links to external sources (eg. ICAEW) to ensure that as key guidance changes and updates so too will Moodle (automatically).

Currently we have established Guides for the following areas within the business:

  • IT Guides
  • Accounts and Audit
  • Tax
  • Management
  • Corporate Finance and Valuations
  • HR
  • Payroll
  • Marketing

It has been set up with the aim of adding new relevant content as we go rather than being an exhaustive list of old articles. The content will be supplied and updated by steering groups across the group, and we welcome feedback and suggestions.

How do we access Moodle?

You can access it via the staff portal or using this url: moodle.lbgroupltd.com

User name: FIRST NAME . SURNAME

Password: Your official LB password

Looks very swish! Well done to the team behind making Moodle happen.

Some great links that will be useful for all staff on a regular basis, template letters etc linked through from Croner will save a bunch of time on matters such as over drawn DLAs. and explanatory notes to clients, as well as templates for claims and elections etc.

Great way to share our other more complex/tailored reports and templates and reduce our time spent reinventing wheels : )

Looking forward to exploring more as the content grows! Thanks guys.
