Timesheet Entries
So that we can monitor the effectiveness of our internal training provided to new joiners, we need to ensure that the time for this is being reported consistently across the business and service lines.
We appreciate that there is a period of grace when anyone joins the business in learning our systems and generally settling in. We therefore expect there to be a high level of such time in an individual’s first month with us that is correctly “non-chargeable”.
However, from now on it is imperative that after the first month, all time spent on training an individual on client work is to be booked to that client’s relevant service assignment code on CCH. Whilst we note that the recoveries on such jobs will suffer, the benefits of this data recording will have the following benefits to us all that outweigh that issue, namely:
- Confirming that new joiners are in fact “busy” learning the ropes on client work.
- Confirming that those giving the training are also “busy” helping us develop colleagues on client work.
- Enabling us to identify the spread of training for an individual across a range of different clients.
- Enabling us to assess more easily a projected improving trend, in the impact of training and any improvements or changes needed to the training we provide.
- Enabling us to identify more easily those that need further training, or further focused training.
- Enabling us to identify those that are most heavily involved in giving such training, and its’ effectiveness as we look to ensure a fairer spread of such work across all.
At the moment, the level of training being posted to “non-chargeable” codes means that a lot of the important analysis above is being lost in this non-chargeable black-hole.
Any questions please do speak to your Line Manager or Service Line Board representative.
Kind regards
The Executive Committee
