Leigh-on-Sea Annual Charity Day and Chelmsford Race for Business
Recently our Leigh-on-Sea and Chelmsford offices participated in fundraising events for their community. Read more about their charitable endeavours below.
Leigh-on-Sea Annual Charity Day
On Saturday 28th June, our Leigh-on-Sea office took part in their Annual Charity Day. The team launched their annual fundraiser in April 2023, in memory of Michael Hallybone (one of the founding partners of Platt Rushton) who passed away in February 2023 due to Leukaemia. This year they have continued to raise funds for Blood Cancer UK.
For this year’s fundraiser, the team took part in a walking or cycling route of Leigh-on-Sea. Walkers could opt to complete a 5.5 mile route or a 13 mile route, whereas cyclists embarked on a 26.2 mile route, breaking halfway for lunch.
So far the team have raised more than £1,150 for Blood Cancer UK. Congratulations to our Leigh-on-Sea office for their continued support and enthusiasm of this special annual charity fundraising day.
Sam Stone, Accounts & Audit Senior, shared “The day was a great success, with outstanding efforts being made by all involved! The weather was kind (perhaps a little too kind!), having to battle 30+ degree heats made those final miles even more challenging! All round it was a great day, raising money for a charity close to us here at Leigh-on-Sea. This is our 3rd year and to date we have raised nearly £8,000! We look forward to opening this up to our new friends and colleagues in the future!”

Chelmsford Race for Business
Our colleagues at the Chelmsford office took part in the 5K Race4 Business in support of Haven’s Hospices.
This run was dedicated to ‘Little Havens’, a service that offers specialist care and support to babies, children, and young people facing complex or incurable conditions in Essex and the surrounding areas.
This year, the event welcomed over 750 participants and had a fantastic atmosphere. Businesses from across Essex came together in support of this incredible cause. Hospice staff shared their heartfelt stories, and an energetic warm-up session united everyone with one shared purpose – to support Havens Hospices.
Before Affinia and NSO joined forces, our colleagues had been participating in this event for many years in support of this charity. It’s great to see that this tradition has continued under Affinia!
A huge well done to the Chelmsford team for dedicating their time to training for the run and supporting.
