Companies House ID Verification: Roll Out Date Confirmed
As highlighted in our Loop article on June 17, the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act (ECCTA) 2023 introduces mandatory identity verification for all Company Directors and Persons with Significant Control (PSCs).
We can now confirm that identity verification becomes mandatory from 18 November 2025.
Key Updates:
- New directors and PSCs must verify their identity before appointment or incorporation.
- Existing directors must verify before filing their next Confirmation Statement after 18 November.
- Existing PSCs have a 12-month transition period, with deadlines based on role and birth month.
Filing Implications:
- Confirmation Statements dated on or after 18 November must include each individual’s unique ID code—filings will be rejected without it.
- Accounts filing is not directly affected, but delays may occur if Confirmation Statements are blocked due to missing ID verification.
Reminder for Affinia Offices:
With your migration to First Order, the Affinia ACSP will apply. Please contact Tanya Johnson with any questions.
Let’s ensure all client documentation is up to date to avoid disruption. For full guidance, revisit the June 17 article or speak to Business Support.
