Congratulations to Tom Butterworth on his promotion to Associate Director!

Tom has worked in the Tax and Accountancy sector for almost 20 years with a career starting in finance and general/mixed taxation. He has experience in running several personally owned businesses before establishing Butterworths, a small boutique Tax Consultancy firm providing Tax advice and Accountancy services to businesses and investors in the property sector for nearly 10 years, before joining LB Group in May 2021. At Butterworths, Tom specialised in property tax matters and joined LB Group with his existing client base to bring the wealth of benefits that LB Group provides with “strength in numbers” and expertise to his clients and in return bring his own specialist property tax expertise for the benefit of LB Group.

Since joining the LB family, Tom has established and continues to grow a UK wide network of professional contacts and business development opportunities which have generated close to £1m+ of opportunities for the LB Group service lines across the board. With the support of the wider team, Tom has worked on cases including the purchase of Brazilian embassy buildings by UHNW non-resident non domiciliary individuals through to multi-million developments on the Silverstone F1 racetrack. Other notable matters include highly contentious and complex SDLT cases and de-enveloping of offshore property. Tom also enjoys working on settlements and enquiries with HMRC having successfully settled a number of disguised remuneration cases and non-compliance by offshore entities through the Worldwide Disclosure facilities with great value added benefits for clients in agreeing common sense settlements with HMRC.
