Fantasy Formula 1!

Hi all,

With the winter break over the Formula 1 season starting next week, I have set up a Fantasy F1 league open to everyone in the Group to join.

This is a fairly new feature for F1 as they have only done it for the last few years but for anyone interested, I have made a summary of the rules below:-

Your team:
Create a team consisting of 5 drivers and 2 constructors with the cost cap of $100m – you are not allowed to go over this cap.

Points:
You gain points based on the performance of the drivers for each race weekend, points are scored in both qualification and race day. Beware however as you will also lose points for poor performances.

The constructors will get you points for both of the drivers and also bonus points for fastest pit stops and qualification results.

DRS Boost:
This is effectively the “captain” of your team and you can apply this to 1 driver per week for them to score double points.

Transfers:
You get 2 free transfers each race weekend and any additional transfer will be a 10 point penalty.

Chips:
Chips can only be used once a season and they are as follows:

1. Autopilot – this will give the DRS boost to the driver that scores the most points automatically
2. Extra DRS Boost – this will give the driver you select 3x points rather than just 2x
3. No Negative – this will remove any negative points you received on a race weekend
4. Wildcard – this allows you to make unlimited transfers and completely change your team without having to take a points hit.
5. Final Fix – this allows you to make 1 transfer between qualification and the race day without incurring a points hit.
