Your new recycling ♻️ stations are now in operation!

Throughout the business and as we grow, it’s more important than ever that we each take accountability to promote a clean and healthy working environment ? By working together, we can ensure we keep our offices “green and tidy” by proactively seeking ways to Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle waste in our offices. ??

To support this initiative, we have now created Recycling Stations across our office sites (and where required, will be continuing to rollout to all other LB offices near you soon)!

Recycling Stations ??️

We now have general waste, food waste and recycling bins in place, so please ensure you use these correctly and follow the guidance displayed above the bins.

UK recycling key facts & stats

♻️ 88% of UK households consider recycling an established norm, and 52% recycle more than they did a year ago

? British households create over 26 million tonnes of waste annually, and an average person throws away around 400 kilograms of waste annually

? Cigarette filters are the most significant contributor to single-use-plastic in the UK

? The unreleased energy contained in the average dustbin each year could power a television for 5,000 hours

? The UK recycles around 380,000 tonnes of plastic bottles a year, but plastic can take up to 1,000 years to decompose in landfills

Reduce ?️

By reducing our waste with less printing, we can lower our carbon outputs and help prevent less waste. Normalising working with digital documents on screen or even by printing smaller – a one-point reduction in font size or slightly narrower line spacing and margins can add up and reduce the need to print multiple pages.

Reuse ?

Getting into the habit of reusing regularly used day-to-day items such as shopping bags and water bottles. Think using your branded LB Group refillable water bottle rather than single-use plastic bottles!

Recycle ♻️

Using recycling bins correctly ensures that waste can be diverted from landfills turning recyclable unused goods into new products or raw materials for new products. This helps reduce waste and reduces the need for new natural resources.
