Stowmarket Town FC One Pint Challenge

As part of Affinia’s commitment to the 3 Cs – Clients, Colleagues, and Community, we’re proud to share some inspiring community news from our Property Tax team.

Tom Butterworth, Head of Property Tax, has recently been appointed Vice Chair of Stowmarket Town Football Club – a historic club that’s been at the heart of the town’s sporting life for over 140 years. The club provides a safe, inclusive space for players of all ages and abilities, and plays a vital role in supporting grassroots football in the region.

However, the club is currently facing a significant financial challenge, having inherited a substantial debt that threatens its future.

To help secure the club’s survival, it has launched the ‘Stow Town FC One Pint Challenge’, encouraging the local community to “buy the club a pint” by making a small donation.

Affinia is proud to be the first large regional business to back this campaign, demonstrating our support not only for the club but also for the wider community and the many young players it nurtures.

Last week, Tom joined Jeff Letter, Chairman of Stowmarket Town FC, on ITV News to raise awareness of the campaign across the region. You can watch their interview via Tom’s LinkedIn here.

If you’d like to support Tom and the club in their efforts, donations can be made via the campaign’s GoFundMe page:
